    Physician Bio

I thoroughly enjoy caring for the elderly—in fact, many of them inspire me. I love my conversations with them, hearing about the things they've done, and learning about what they still want to accomplish. But most of all, I enjoy helping them achieve the highest quality of life possible.

Many of my patients look at me not just as a good doctor, but as their friend. It is a priority for me to ensure that when someone leaves the office, they understand the next steps in their care and that all questions have been answered. By investing some extra time during the office visit, I can help prevent confusion later.

Exercise and nutrition are critical to good health as you age, and with my patients, I am an enthusiastic advocate of finding ways to introduce more wellness into their lives. Health problems can also become more complicated as you grow older: my patients and I work together to create the most effective treatment plan.

For the first 20 years of my career I was an orthopaedic surgeon, a specialty where the motto is often "Get in, fix it and go." Switching to internal medicine has allowed me to practice a very different type of medicine, where the relationship is as important as the clinical skills. I'm honored to offer my patients both.
