St. Jude Medical Center's annual celebration of survivorship and courage,
starring St. Jude cancer patients and survivors as runway models, supports
the Crosson Cancer Institute by providing advances in treatment and technology,
ensuring that our patients have every advantage in the fight against cancer.
More than 700 community supporters will come together for this unforgettable
experience which includes a champagne reception, silent auction, luncheon,
paddle raise and fashion show.

History of A Walk Among the Stars
Twenty-nine years ago, a handful of women gathered in Phyllis Amato’s
kitchen to dream up a fundraising event like no other: a fashion show
featuring cancer survivors. Unsure if the event would succeed, the community
members found a hotel banquet room small enough to look somewhat full
if they could just scrape together 250 attendees. Within days of the invitations
going out, Phyllis had a very different problem: what do you do when too
many people buy tickets? So began Walk Among the Stars, a unique fashion
show and luncheon which quickly grew into a community-wide celebration
of the life and courage of those who fight cancer – and the hospital
that helps them win. To date, more than $2.2 million for St. Jude's
cancer services has been raised through this inspiring event.
