Who We Can Help
Our comprehensive 6-8 week rehabilitation program is designed to improve
the health and independence of those affected by:
- COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease)
- Chronic bronchitis
- Chronic asthma
- Restrictive lung disease
- Cystic fibrosis
- Pulmonary hypertension
- Lung transplant preparation and recovery
The program meets weekly. Each session consists of one hour of monitored
exercise in a group setting—individualized to meet your needs—to
help you increase strength, build endurance and reduce your symptoms.
Sessions also include education on topics such as medications, nutrition,
relaxation, breathing techniques, how to do everyday tasks, and other
strategies for living better. You’ll also learn how to cope with
the emotional changes that often come with chronic pulmonary conditions,
including depression, panic and anxiety.
At each session, you’ll be among others who have many of the same
experiences, questions and feelings that you do, allowing the program
to provide invaluable emotional support.
Our Expert Team
You’ll benefit from the expertise and experience of a multidisciplinary
team committed to helping you live a healthier and more active life, now
and long after the program has ended. We bring together a wide range of
specialists, from board-certified pulmonologists and exercise physiologists,
to respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and nutritionists—all who
share the same goal: your well-being.
Your team will take a complete health history, learn about your current
level of activity and personal challenges, and help you set goals for
what is most important to you. Your individualized plan of care will be
regularly reviewed by our pulmonologist and adjustments will be made to
help you meet your goals and make gains in handling daily activities.
