You will receive bills and correspondence from St. Jude Medical Center.
Please read this correspondence carefully, as it contains important information
regarding the status of your account. When contacting the hospital regarding
your bill, be prepared to provide your patient account number, which you
will find at the top of your bill, and your insurance information.
Patient Financial Services representatives are available to answer financial
questions at (714) 870-3500, Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.
St. Jude Heritage Medical Group Financial Patient Advocate
Our Financial Patient Advocate is a resource for patients and families
when there are questions or concerns about finances. A Financial Patient
Advocate for the Radiation Oncology Center and the Oncology/Hematology
Infusion Center can search for out-of-pocket resources, help you understand
your insurance benefits, and answer questions about your treatment bills.

Financial Assistance Program
St. Jude Medical Center is committed to providing high quality, compassionate
healthcare to all patients, regardless of their ability to pay. Medically
necessary care should not be delayed because you don’t have health
insurance or you’re unable to pay your hospital bill. If you do
not have health insurance and worry that you may be unable to pay your
hospital bill, it is important to let us know. You may qualify for free
services or services at a discounted fee. This program is limited to hospital
charges and does not include physician, anesthesiologist or professional
charges that are not billed by the hospital.
You may be eligible for our program if you meet all of the following guidelines:
are not covered by government-sponsored insurance programs, such as Medi-Cal,
MSI, Healthy Families, or Medicare.
meet income guidelines based on family size and the Federal Poverty Level.
you may have trouble paying your bill.
A Financial Counselor will work with you to determine if you are eligible.
It is important to remember that you will receive medically necessary
care, regardless of your eligibility for financial assistance or ability to pay.
How to Apply
If you think you might be eligible for the Patient Financial Assistance
Program, or if you have questions, please call a Financial Counselor at
(714) 446-5141. If no one answers, please leave a message and a counselor
will return your call as soon as possible. A counselor will ask you a
few questions and give you an application to complete. If you need help
in filling out the application, a counselor will be happy to assist you.
Once your application is received, it will be reviewed and you will be
notified in writing of your eligibility status.
