About Peter J. Winkle

Dr. Winkle was born in New York City, New York. He moved with his family to California over 30 years ago. He is a resident of Newport Beach. He is married and has four children. He is an avid sports fan and loves to ski locally and around the country with his wife. Dr. Winkle attended the UC Berkeley and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in biological sciences. He attended the University of Southern California School of Medicine and completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the University of California Irvine. He completed his formal education at the University of California Los Angeles in the subspecialty of gastroenterology. He is re-certified in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology and is a certified principal investigator.

Dr. Winkle is highly skilled in all endoscopic procedures including ERCP, colonoscopy and upper endoscopy. Dr. Winkle splits his time as a practicing gastroenterologist at AGMG and as a principal investigator for many Phase I-IV trials at Anaheim Clinical Trials.
