About Brian P. Riff

A board-certified and fellowship-trained gastroenterologist, Brian Riff, MD, specializes in the minimally-invasive, endoscopic treatment of diseases of the digestive tract.

Having completed fellowships in both gastroenterology and interventional endoscopy, Dr. Riff brings specialized training and expertise to many of today’s most advanced treatments, including: endoluminal stenting of the esophagus, duodenum and colon; radiofrequency ablation for Barrett's Esophagus; endoscopic ultrasound; ERCP; and endoscopic mucosal resection.

Following medical school at Thomas Jefferson University’s Kimmel Medical School, Dr. Riff completed his internship, residency and fellowship in gastroenterology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, as well as a clinical research program at the U Penn Center for Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics. He completed a second fellowship at Mount Sinai Hospital, one of the nation’s top gastroenterology programs, where he was chosen as the Wong-Tang Fellow in Advanced Endoscopy, a highly competitive fellowship focused exclusively on cutting-edge endoscopic techniques and procedures.

Dr. Riff recently returned to Orange County, where he was born and raised, to join the medical staff of St. Jude Medical Center. While primarily focused on outstanding patient care, he has also published original research and book chapters on many gastrointestinal disorders. In his free time, he enjoys spending his free time showing his wife, a native New Yorker, all of California’s outdoor activities.
