How To Become a Volunteer

All of St. Jude Medical Center’s volunteer opportunities, regardless of age group, are clerical-based (non-clinical, no job shadowing or internship opportunities).

If accepted into the program, all volunteers are required to complete the following (about one month from orientation date to complete):

• Attend mandatory Volunteer Orientation

• Background Check (for those 18 years of age or older)

• Health Screening

High School Program

Requirements

Minimum 15 years of age and a sophomore in high school

Minimum 2.0 GPA

Must fulfill 100-hour and 1 year commitment (you are required to complete both in order to be recognized as a volunteer for St. Jude Medical Center)

Required to volunteer 1 consistent shift a week for 3 hours

Shifts available to volunteer (Monday-Friday, 4-7 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday, times vary)

$25 one-time fee

*Weekend shifts are available but very limited; please have an available weekday as well

College Program

Requirements

Must be currently enrolled in college

Minimum 2.5 GPA

Must fulfill 100-hour and 1 year commitment (you are required to complete both in order to be recognized as a volunteer for St. Jude Medical Center)

Required to volunteer 1 consistent shift a week for 4 hours

Shifts available to volunteer (Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-12 p.m. or 12-4 p.m.)

$25 one-time fee

Guild/Adult Program

Requirements

Minimum 18 years of age

Must fulfill 100-hour and 1 year commitment (you are required to complete both in order to be recognized as a volunteer for St. Jude Medical Center)

Shifts available to volunteer (Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-12 p.m. or 12 p.m.-4 p.m.)

$20 annual dues fee
