SAVE THE DATE: 2011 A WALK AMONG THE STARS
Attendees of this annual fashion show and luncheon hear moving stories of cancer survivors who were treated at St. Jude Medical Center. Fashion show models featured are also cancer survivors. This year's event will be held on October 9 at the Anaheim Hilton. More information to follow.

Mark your calendars for the 2011 A Walk Among the Stars, to be held on October 9, 2011 at 10 a.m. at the Anaheim Hilton. This uplifting luncheon and benefit centers around a fashion show that features cancer survivors who were treated at St. Jude Medical Center. Attendees hear the moving stories of these survivors and listen to presentations from local cancer specialists about current treatments and breakthroughs. Proceeds from this year’s event will be applied toward cancer services at the St. Jude Crosson Comprehensive Cancer Center. Tickets are $75 each and sponsorship and underwriting opportunities are also available. It’s never too early to start your shopping! Join Damas de Caridad at their annual Fall Festival, to be held Saturday, October 22 from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Richard Nixon Library and Birthplace in Yorba Linda. This year’s event will feature a silent and live auction, boutique shopping and a tasty meal prepared by Jason’s. Proceeds will benefit St. Jude Medical Center’s Children’s Dental Clinic. Light Up a Life gives us an occasion to honor or memorialize those we love in a meaningful way, while helping St. Jude Medical Center meet the health care needs of our community. When you give to Light Up a Life, a light is placed on the St. Jude Medical Center Tree of Lights. This holiday season, gifts to Light Up a Life will be applied toward St. Jude’s Palliative Care Program, brightening the lives of families coping with serious illness. Thank you to everyone who supported the 2011 John Lin Memorial Golf Tournament. A great time was had by all! Thanks to the generosity of golfers, donors and sponsors, more than $20,000 went back to the Memorial Foundation.

A special thanks to everyone who supported the 2011 Neighbors Helping Neighbors dinner and fundraiser. More than $140,000 was collected at the event, which was held at The Summit House Restaurant on March 31. Nearly the entire cost of the event was underwritten by The Summit House Restaurant and an anonymous donor, and 100 percent of the proceeds will go back to the Care for the Poor Programs at St. Jude Medical Center. Thank you to everyone who supported the 34th Annual St. Jude Golf Classic. The 2011 tournament was a huge success. Proceeds from this event will be applied toward the RapidArc Linear Accelerator, the latest in cancer treatment technology.

And congratulations to the winners of the Helicopter Ball Drop: Juan Garcia, Joseph Carpello and Jim Baldovin. These lucky winners went home with an American Express gift card valued at $2,000, $1,000 and $500, respectively.
