John Lin Memorial Golf Tournament

Please join us for the John Lin Memorial Golf Tournament on Tuesday, March 19 at Coyote Hills Golf Course in Fullerton. This annual tournament began five years ago in memory of John Lin, a longtime board member of the St. Jude Memorial Foundation, and continues his legacy of philanthropic support for St. Jude Medical Center. Neighbors Helping Neighbors

Please join us for the 2013 Neighbors Helping Neighbors dinner, which will be held on Thursday, March 21 at the Summit House Restaurant in Fullerton. This annual event benefits St. Jude Medical Center's Care for the Poor program, which provides free and low-cost medical and dental care to medically-underserved children and adults in our community.

The focus of this year's event is to raise much-needed funds for pediatric services provided by the St. Jude Neighborhood Health Center.

St. Jude Medical Center's 36th Annual Golf Classic

Save the date! The 2013 Golf Classic will take place on Monday, May 20 at Los Coyotes Country Club in Buena Park. This annual event is always a great day of golf, food and camaraderie. The Golf Classic begins with registration at 9 a.m. and a shotgun start at 11 a.m. Post-tournament festivities include dinner, awards, a silent auction and opportunity drawings.

Thanks to our generous supporters, last year's golf tournament raised over $245,000 toward the purchase of neuro-biplane angiography equipment. Acquiring this advanced technology has opened up the vast world of interventional neurovascular procedures at St. Jude Medical Center and makes us one of only five Orange County hospitals with such progressive capabilities. The neuro-biplane's 3-D, real-time imaging carefully guides physicians and surgeons through intricate brain and heart procedures, enabling them to provide faster, less invasive treatment for conditions such as stroke and aneurysms.

Building on last year's momentum toward the transformation of stroke care at St. Jude, proceeds from this year's tournament will help provide equipment and technology for patient rooms in the Northwest Patient Tower, currently under construction. The healing environment for stroke patients will include large private rooms for family visitation, a peaceful healing garden, a physical therapy room, two nurses' stations, a family consultation room, and a comfortable waiting room for visitors.

A Walk Among the Stars

Thank you to the nearly 500 guests who joined us on Sunday, October 21, 2012 at St. Jude Medical Center's A Walk Among the Stars Fashion Show and Luncheon held at the Anaheim Marriott. Nineteen models—cancer survivors and cancer patients—sported outfits from JC Penney, White House/Black Market, Bettinis, and Group USA as they walked the runway. Special thanks to the sponsors and supporters of the fashion show and luncheon as the event netted over $80,000 to support the new St. Jude Cancer Rehabilitation and Wellness Program, the first program in the state to receive STAR (Survivorship Training and Rehabilitation) certification.

If you would like to make a donation to the St. Jude Memorial Foundation to support cancer programs like STAR, please click here or call (714) 992-3033.

Light Up a Life

Thank you to all who joined us for this year's Light Up A Life Service of Remembrance. Over 450 donors helped us "Light Up A Life" by donating more than $50,000 and dedicating a light in honor of a special friend or family member or to memorialize a loved one. Donations for Light Up A Life support our mission in many ways, by helping St. Jude Medical Center provide the best care for patients in all areas of their health. The Trees of Lights were displayed in the medical center's lobbies throughout the Advent Season. If you would like to make a gift in honor or memory of a loved one, please call the St. Jude Memorial Foundation at (714) 992-3033.
