Brain Injury Program Print E-mail

As one of California’s only accredited programs, the St. Jude Regional Brain Injury Program combines the talents of a well-respected team of experts with the most advanced therapies. The result is unmatched excellence.

From sophisticated inpatient treatment, such as sensory stimulation of patients still in coma, to outpatient services, targeting transition to life roles, such as job site evaluations for return to work, we specialize in helping patients regain a full and rewarding life.

Our cognitive rehabilitation includes activities to recover memory, problem-solving skills and critical-thinking abilities. Frequent trips to museums, shopping centers and other public places give patients the opportunity to practice new skills. We assist patients to relearn the skills essential for day-to-day living. Management of time and finances, grocery shopping, homemaking skills and conversational norms are areas of focus.

Additional services range from Tai Chi classes and driver training to spiritual care and family support groups, together adding up to one of the state’s most comprehensive array of services.

Our patients and their families are the center of the treatment team and meet regularly with physicians, physical therapists, neuropsychologists, speech pathologists, occupational therapists, case managers, recreation therapists and other specialists. For more information, call (714) 992-3000 ext. 3886.
