Areas of ExpertiseFamily Medicine
Family practice allows a more complete approach to medicine, not focused on a particular disease but on the whole person. Equally important, it allows me to be personally involved in my patients' lives. From an five-year-old patient who dreams of joining the circus to an 84-year-old patient who still ballroom dances, I love having the opportunity to know and care for my patients over many years.
I think good medicine starts with listening carefully and treating patients as if they were my own family. I want to offer the absolute best care available for whatever condition or illness my patients face, but prevention is always better than treatment. By focusing on factors that often get overlooked—nutrition, sleep, vitamin deficiencies, exercise—I can help my patients actually improve the quality of their life.
In addition to family practice, I am also board certified in addiction medicine. There are new and effective approaches to make overcoming addition easier. It is very rewarding to help patients of all ages and all walks of life move past their addiction and begin a new stage of life.
