Physician BioThe banner for our pain management practice is Well Being, from Awareness to Freedom. I selected Pain Management as my field of expertise because for as long as I remember, I have always been interested in our humanity, who we are as human beings and why we do what we do in life. I chose the field of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation because it looks at the patient as a whole person. The field inquires what is possible to functionally participate in life activities rather than concentrating on a patient’s impairments and limitations. Also, I have always been fascinated with our perception of pain and how it impacts not only certain important neurological and musculoskeletal factors, but also by our past experiences in life and our acquired behaviors. Many of these experiences and behaviors are in part the cause of suffering we see so often in chronic pain patients.
In my spare time, I enjoy filmmaking, exercise, yoga, meditation and poetry.
Areas of InterestDiagnosing and treating musculoskeletal pain, including back and neck pain, fibromyalgia, headache and nerve pain. I treat conditions with medications, by performing spinal and join injections, nerve blocks, and through physical and psychosocial reactivation.
