There is a spirit at St. Jude Medical Center that is different from other hospitals. People here are genuinely committed to the mission and values set by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Orange. Service is their attitude; excellence is their standard for care. They treat all patients with respect, dignity and concern for personal needs. Each person is valued and deserving of St. Jude's care according to their need.
This spirit has inspired the generosity of grateful patients, families and community friends. Over the years, gifts to the Memorial Foundation have supported St. Jude Medical Center, helping to make it one of Southern California's most respected and technologically advanced hospitals.
The challenge today is to continue meeting the needs of a diverse, growing population with exceptional medical care. St. Jude is responding with its most ambitious and visionary plan to build new facilities, invest in the latest technologies and increase capabilities to care for patients. Now more than ever, community support is crucial to the future of healthcare in north Orange County.

Transforming the Future of Healthcare Together
A Message from Terry Brick, Immediate Past Chair, St. Jude Memorial Foundation Board
Thank you to each and every donor who made a gift to help achieve $51 million for the Campaign for Excellence by December 31, 2008. Community members, physicians, staff and volunteers all gave generously to ensure the $125 million Southwest Patient Tower would be built and equipped to offer the finest care for our community.
St. Jude will be forever grateful to the nearly 18,000 donors who made gifts to support the campaign since it began in 2002. The generosity of this community is remarkable when we recall that before this campaign, the largest fundraising effort previously undertaken by St. Jude had a goal of just $3.5 million.
A special thank you goes to Campaign Chair, Joe Lins, the Campaign Cabinet and the members of the Board of the St. Jude Memorial Foundation. Past Board Chairs Carl Camp, Dr. Joseph Lawton and Jim Stearman were all instrumental in leading this campaign. Fundraising is never an easy task, and a seven-year effort to reach the $50 million goal was both challenging and rewarding for all of us who shared the volunteer leadership responsibilities.
This patient tower allows St. Jude Medical Center to fulfill its commitment to improve and safeguard the lives of those in this community, and stay at the forefront of medicine. Two entire floors of beautifully designed Maternity Services, expanded Emergency Services, a new 20-bed Critical Care Unit and Cardiac and Vascular Catheterization Labs – all featuring the newest innovations and cutting-edge technology – all designed to meet your medical needs.
